Finley just happened to us and we have been his slave ever since.
He has settled in well.... a bit too well for our other dog Jack who has already been with us for 8 years and Finley for 6 weeks!

Ravi was my first whippet since i was a child. He came from a rescue home.
He is a lovely, nice natured, gentle fellow that gets along with all other animals, Ravi is now 11 years old.
He still loves to play with his ball and go for rides in the car. When we got Shadow as a puppy, Ravi looked after him. They are now best friends.

He is the light of our lives, so lovable and just wants to be loved and cuddled and loves to just sleep with his head on your knee.

Connor is my 2nd Whippet, Clancy my older boy (Gelbregan Crystaldreamer CCD) and I drove 3700 ks from Darwin in the NT to Inverleigh near Geelong which is in Victoria, to pick him up!
Then of course we had to drive all the way back too, but we did that slowly and took a holiday whilst we got to know our new baby!
This Christmas is Connors 1st! He wasn't quite sure what Christmas was, but when it came he really enjoyed all his toys and treats.
I am so grateful that his lovely breeder entrusted him to me and Clancy to love.
In 2010 I am semi retiring and travelling right around Australia - working as I go - and spending far more time with my lovely boys!
Clancy has already written extensively about his travels and when we head off in June/July 2010 both boys will be keeping a travel blog.

We got Shadow when he was nine weeks old. He is eight months in the picture.
He is the sweetest little dog and loves to play with his toys or curls up with his cat friend by the fire.

Zoe will be 12 weeks old the week of Christmas 2009 and has mastered the art of ringing the bells that hang on our patio door knob. This is the door that she was being trained to go to when she needs to go outside to potty. We never introduced her to these bells at all.
Being that whipets are very intellegent, it didn't take her very long to figure out that everytime the door opened or closed the bells rung. She instantly started using this as a message to all of us that she needed to go outside. It was funny when she first did it because it got everyones attention.
My two sons came running up the hall from their bedrooms and my husband came bouncing up the few steps from the family room, while I met all of them in the middle of the dining room to see why these bells were rings like crazy.
We all got a good laugh out of seeing her beating those bells around.
Zoe also likes to sleep with her head laying on top of my husbands bald little head. I have never seen her do this while he is laying on the sofa awake but once he is asleep, she will slide over and lay her head on his and go to sleep.
She likes to play hide a seek too. Seems as though we are always the losers. When she disappears and we start looking for her, she normally finds us before we find her. She'll be sitting in the middle of the floor behind one of us and watching us look under the beds, the sofas, behind the chairs etc.... When you turn around, there she is just sitting there with a look on her face of "who are you looking for".
Sometimes she does better then that by going to the other side and looking back through at you as if she is helping you look for what is lost.
It is never a dull moment with her around. I wouldn't trade her for the world. My family loves her to death and would be lost without her.

My husband saw his first whippet at the age of 10. From that day, as a child, he would dream every night that his mum would buy him a whippet and he would wake up to find it at the end of his bed.
This never happened, but now at the age of 43 he finally has got his whippet! He also just happened to bump into the man who first introduced him to this breed, at Christmas time.
He had not seen him since that time when he was ten. What a surreal meeting and how proud was Jon to introduce the man to the lovely misty blue.
I asked Jon if I could have a black labrador for my birthday, but he went on and on about whippets. He took me to one, and we have not looked back since.
I am overwhelmed with her gentleness, the love that she shows and gives to our 3 young children. We love taking her to the fields and letting her just run.
She loves the company of other dogs, loves to play and my goodness me, does she fetch that ball! She's back before the blink of an eye ready for another throw.
She loves my bin!!!!! And chewing my rug!!But mostly she loves to just cuddle up and laze on our sofa or laps. We like to take her everywhere with us. A fully fledged member of the family.. At six months, I can 't remember a life without her .

This is my whippet puppy Lady, she is my 1st whippet and very sweet.
She is very lazy and loves to sleep all day but she is also very playful and gets on very well with my 2 yr old son.
She follows me everywhere and doesn't leave my side, she is also very loyal and protective of my son.
Last week when out on a walk she got attacked by a staff and as soon as the dog went near my son she chased it off which is very brave for a whippet.

Artemis was one year old when she was adopted. We were her third owners and she was recovering from a laceration from another dog.
She would not allow anyone to pet her and she shied away from all dogs. After 2 years, she now thinks everyone she meets should pet her and is no longer afraid of other dogs.
She does not like cold weather and if the temperature goes below 50 degrees, she will not go outside without one of her coats.
She is loyal, loving, and thinks anything stored in a ziplock bag is something for her to eat.
