Funny Dog Poems: My Whippet Zippy

This is a poem I wrote about my brindle whippet, Zippy, when I was young.



Zippy’s his name
And zippy he is,
I’ll tell you all about him,
How he’s a real whizz

He’s faster than a cheetah
Stronger than an ox,
Ha Ha silly cat,
With funny polka dots

Tigers have beautiful stripes
Yes it is true,
But Zippy, as you know,
They look much better on you!

He’s wiser than an owl,
More cunning than a fox,
He’s much better than people,
Because he doesn’t get chicken pox

He’s happier than a lark,
Springier than a spring,
When he’s not busy racing
Zippy’s doing tricks and other things

Prouder than a peacock,
Braver than a lion,
Watch out king of the jungle,
There’s a new king (and I’m not lying)

More cuddly than a lamb,
And warmer than blanket,
That’s my Zippy and out of all dogs,
He’s my Favourite!
