Boomer at 3 Months
Boomer was rescued whippet mix.
When we took him to the vet at 3 months old, she advised that he had also been physically and emotionally abused prior to the person who found him.
He tends to have separation anxiety when his owner is out of sight too long. He does very well with our 5 yr old Rotti, and put her back in shape as she chases him around the hill in our back yard.
He loves his Britt because she brought him home to a loving situation and provides him the emotional care he needs.
He doesn't even mind that she insists he sports the pink collar, pink leash or pink sweaters. He is a bit protective of her and doesn't let men come to close, including good old dad. He has to approve of the person attempting to hand her something before they get too close.
He has a box of toys and he will pull everyone of them out of the box and place them together on the couch where he lays. His favorite toy to play with is the tennis ball.
He loves to fetch and will continue to get the ball and drop it at your feet as long as you continue to throw it.
He has a snuggle toy too and he never rips that one up. He is quite hyper but nothing a good run around the back yard can't take care of.
He is extremely smart, and learns tricks quickly. He loves to manipulate Britt too.
When coming out of the car he won't just jump down even though he is quite a jumper. He insist on her leaning in so he can put his front feet over her shoulder and be lifted out and put down.
He is also a creature of habit. He has a schedule he likes to stick to and has a bit of the "old man irritation mood" when he is bothered as he takes a nap.
Boomer has the personality of a typical Whippet, but does things typical of the Aussie Shepard, including the frisbee obsession.
He has mostly short, soft hair but has an area over his back end and shoulder blades where long hair grows.
He looks funny when his back hair goes up because of strangers or something else, the long hairs go up and make him look like a camel with two humps.
He is very funny and such a character that you just laugh and feel good anytime you walk in the house.
We are thrilled he became part of our family.

Best personality ever. Very loyal, a bit to protective of his owner because no guy is allowed to get too close to her. So much for dating.
Boomer is a rescue dog. Saved him from starvation at 2 months old...six lbs, now 4 months later he is 36 Lbs.
He loves our Rotti and loves to sleep on the couch and sit in your lap. Loves to go anywhere in the car as long as he gets to be part of the family.

Boomer, my whippet mix, takes things in his mouth all the time and just holds it there. He just stares at me with things hanging out of his mouth.
Last week he went outside for his normal 9:30 PM potty time and came back with something that looked like a weed hanging out of his mouth. He was being rather gentle with it and just stared at my dad.
Mom traded him a treat for it and realized she traded for a dead lizard. Everyone could hear the scream. Just another day in the life of a whippet mix.
